Root canal treatment
“Root canal treatment” sounds scary, but in practice it's a routine procedure done under anesthesia, with no pain at all. The idea is simple: we remove the inflamed pulp from the tooth's canals, clean and shape them thoroughly, and seal them tightly. The tooth is saved and serves you for many more years. Dent Aura in the Kotovskoho residential area of Odesa performs endodontic treatment according to modern protocols.
When do you need a root canal?
Root canal treatment is indicated for pulpitis (inflammation of the pulp caused by deep decay) — when a tooth reacts with sharp pain to hot or cold, hurts on its own, aches at night or no longer responds to stimuli at all. It is also needed when a chronic infection flares up and when a fracture exposes the pulp.
The goal is not to extract the tooth but to save it. A filled canal means the nerve is no longer alive, but the tooth itself stays in place and fully functional.
Why choose Dent Aura for root canal treatment?
We use flexible NiTi files instead of hand files — they follow the curves of the canals better and reduce the risk of an instrument breaking inside the tooth.
The most reliable way to fill a canal tightly along its entire length — with no voids where infection could develop.
We always take an X-ray at the end to make sure the filling is dense and reaches the correct length.
Simple treatment of a tooth with 1 canal is completed in a single visit. Complex cases take two or three, but we never drag things out.
How is root canal treatment done?
We determine the number of canals, their length and their shape.
We fully numb the tooth before starting.
We access the pulp chamber through the chewing surface.
Using special files, we remove the inflamed pulp from each canal.
We widen the canals with files and rinse them with an antiseptic (sodium hypochlorite).
An apex locator determines the exact depth to the tip of the root.
The canals are tightly filled with gutta-percha and sealer.

An uncomplicated single-root tooth — one visit (1.5–2 hours). A tooth with several canals or chronic inflammation — two or three visits.
Temporarily, yes. But in the long run, a tooth without a crown is more prone to fracture. We recommend getting a crown within 6 months.
That's normal. If the pain gets worse or doesn't go away after 5 days, contact the clinic.
