Beyond II Ultra is an American in-office whitening system with light activation. It appeared before Zoom, has been through more than two decades of clinical research and delivers consistent results — up to 8 shades lighter than your starting color. How does the Beyond whitening system work?
Beyond is a light-activated (photodynamic) system: a hydrogen peroxide gel is applied to the teeth and then activated with a special cool blue light. The light breaks the peroxide down into active oxygen, which penetrates the enamel and dentin and breaks up stain molecules without damaging the tooth structure. The procedure consists of 3–4 cycles of 8 minutes each.

What happens during Beyond whitening?
We assess the color and condition of your enamel and check for cavities.
We remove tartar and plaque so the gel spreads evenly over the surface.
We apply a barrier gel or place a retractor.
A hydrogen peroxide gel is applied evenly to the teeth.
3–4 cycles of 8 minutes. The gel is refreshed between cycles.
We compare the color before and after.
For 48 hours, avoid foods and drinks that stain — this helps stabilize the result.

Frequently asked questions
For most patients, no. You may have slight sensitivity during the procedure and for 1–2 days afterward. If your teeth are already sensitive, tell us before we start and we'll adjust the treatment.
No. Only natural enamel can be whitened. If you have crowns or veneers on your front teeth, the result may look uneven.
It varies from person to person: from 2 to 8. Yellowish teeth respond best. Grayish teeth (discolored by tetracycline antibiotics) respond less well.
For 48 hours afterward, avoid coffee, tea, red wine, berries and brightly colored sauces. This “white diet” helps stabilize the result.
