Beyond II Ultra is an American professional whitening system with light activation. It came out before Zoom, is backed by more than twenty years of clinical research and gives a stable result in a single visit. At Dent Aura we chose Beyond because it’s effective and, with proper patient selection, safe for enamel.
How Beyond whitening works
A hydrogen peroxide gel is applied to the teeth and activated with a special cold blue light. The light breaks down the peroxide, and the active oxygen penetrates the enamel and dentin and breaks down pigments without damaging the tooth structure. The gums and lips are isolated beforehand, so the gel only touches the enamel.
The procedure step by step
- Examination. The dentist checks for cavities, cracks and gum inflammation and records your starting shade.
- Cleaning, if needed. Teeth should be clean before whitening — otherwise plaque and tartar prevent an even result.
- Gum protection with a special barrier.
- 3–4 cycles of 8 minutes: gel + light. Between cycles the dentist checks how the colour changes.
- Comparison with the starting shade and advice for the next few days.
What result to expect
Teeth get 2–8 shades lighter, depending on the person. Yellowish teeth respond best; greyish ones (for example, after tetracycline antibiotics) respond less. Important: only natural enamel whitens. Fillings, crowns and veneers don’t change colour, so they sometimes need replacing after whitening.
Who shouldn’t have whitening
We don’t whiten teeth with active cavities, enamel cracks or gum inflammation, or during pregnancy and breastfeeding. If your teeth are already sensitive, tell us before we start and the dentist will choose a gentler mode.
How to keep the result
- A 48-hour “white diet”: no coffee, tea, red wine, berries, beetroot, bright sauces or smoking.
- Sensitivity for 1–2 days is normal. A toothpaste for sensitive teeth helps.
- A professional cleaning every 6 months removes fresh stains and extends the effect.
The result usually lasts 1–2 years; less if you smoke or drink a lot of coffee.
How much it costs
Beyond II Ultra whitening at Dent Aura starts at UAH 6,000. The price includes the examination, gum protection and assessment of the result. If you need a cleaning first, it starts at UAH 2,000. You can also give a cleaning and whitening as a present with a gift certificate.
Questions and answers
Does teeth whitening hurt?
For most patients, no. Slight sensitivity is possible during the procedure and for 1–2 days afterwards.
Do crowns and veneers whiten?
No, only natural enamel. If you have crowns or veneers on your front teeth, the result may be uneven — the dentist will advise what to do.
Does whitening damage enamel?
Not with proper patient selection and protocol. That's why an examination before the procedure is mandatory.
What shouldn't I eat after whitening?
For 48 hours avoid coffee, tea, red wine, berries and bright sauces — this "white diet" helps fix the result.
