About the treatment
IPS e.max is a pressed ceramic made by Swiss manufacturer Ivoclar Vivadent and is considered the benchmark for aesthetic restorations of the front teeth. The material is shaped by heat pressing, which gives it a uniform structure free of pores and cracks, natural translucency and excellent depth of color.
E-max is a good fit if: maximum aesthetics and a natural look in the smile zone matter to you, you need veneers or crowns on your front teeth, and your bite is not under excessive load (no bruxism).

How the procedure works
We discuss the shape, length and shade of your future crowns or veneers. Sometimes we make a mock-up (wax model) so you can approve the design in advance.
Minimal preparation: E-max requires removing less than 1 mm of tooth structure for veneers and 1–1.5 mm for crowns.
Silicone or digital, sent to the dental lab.
While your restorations are being made (2 weeks), we place temporary veneers or crowns.
Before cementation, we try in the finished restoration to check the shade, shape and fit. If needed, it goes back to the lab for refinement.
E-max is bonded with a special adhesive cement, creating a strong bond without any metal attachments.

If maximum beauty and translucency are the priority, choose E-max. If you have a heavy bite or bruxism, monolithic zirconia is stronger. In most aesthetic cases, the doctor will recommend E-max.
It is strong enough for the front teeth. However, E-max is more brittle than zirconia under impact. Avoid opening bottles with your teeth and protect them from injury.
