Tooth extraction
Tooth extraction is a last resort. But if a tooth can no longer be saved, it's important to do it right: as gently as possible, with good anesthesia and proper aftercare. At Dent Aura, extractions follow clear protocols, from a simple one-step removal to a complex surgical procedure.
About the treatment
Tooth extraction is a procedure we turn to only when the tooth can no longer be saved. Reasons include: a crown so badly broken down that it can’t be restored, a vertical root fracture, chronic inflammation that doesn’t respond to treatment, grade III mobility due to periodontitis, or a tooth that gets in the way of orthodontic or prosthetic treatment.
We always try to save the tooth. But when extraction is unavoidable, we do it as gently as possible to minimize trauma and speed up healing.
Benefits of tooth extraction at Dent Aura
The doctor always looks for a way to save the tooth first. We extract only when there is no other option.
Upper and lower teeth call for different anesthesia techniques. We adjust the dose individually.
We use elevators of the right size, so the socket suffers less trauma and heals faster.
You don't leave empty-handed: you get clear instructions and a phone number to call if something doesn't feel right.
How the procedure works
We never start an extraction without an X-ray: we need to know how many roots there are and their shape.
The doctor checks once more that extraction really is the only option. If the patient is unsure, the tooth can sometimes be saved.
Chosen individually depending on the tooth and its location. We wait until the area is fully numb.
Using an elevator, we gently separate the gum from the tooth.
The tooth is loosened with an elevator and removed with forceps of the right size. Teeth with several roots are sometimes sectioned into parts.
We remove granulation tissue and rinse the socket with antiseptic.
A cotton pad is held in place for 30 minutes. If needed, a hemostatic sponge is used.
Written instructions and the clinic's phone number in case something doesn't feel right.

Frequently asked questions
Not under anesthesia. You'll feel pressure as the tooth is loosened, but no sharp pain. Afterward, you may have noticeable discomfort for 1–3 days.
For 24 hours: don't rinse your mouth, smoke, drink through a straw, eat hot food or exercise. All of these interfere with blood clot formation and can lead to dry socket (alveolar osteitis).
2 hours after the anesthesia wears off. On the first day, stick to soft foods and chew on the opposite side.
After 2–3 months, once the bone has healed. Sometimes it can be placed at the same time as the extraction (immediate implant placement), if the socket is clean and there is no inflammation.
